1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of XiangqiPlay (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and respectfully. You may not harass other users, post abusive or unlawful content, attempt to disrupt the Service, or access it through automated means without our permission.

We may remove content and restrict or terminate access for anyone who violates these standards, at our discretion and without prior notice where necessary.

5. Fair Play & Anti-Cheat

Integrity is core to XiangqiPlay. You may not use chess engines, external assistance, or any tools that give an unfair advantage during rated play. You may not sandbag, collude, or manipulate ratings.

We operate automated and manual systems to detect cheating. Confirmed violations may result in rating corrections, suspension, or permanent account closure. See our Fair Play page for details.

6. Subscriptions & Billing

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings.

Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice, and changes will apply to subsequent billing periods.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, software, branding, and content, is owned by XiangqiPlay or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You retain ownership of content you create, but you grant us a licence to host, display, and distribute it as needed to operate the Service. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our materials without permission.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for us or other users, or as otherwise permitted by law.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Certain provisions, such as intellectual property and limitation of liability, survive termination.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, XiangqiPlay and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred dollars, whichever is greater.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which XiangqiPlay is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
